Our Veterinarians

Dr. Florian H. Sanchez
Florian H. Sanchez, DVM

New Mexico native Dr. Florian Sanchez grew up on his family’s farm and ranch operation in Bosque – an experience he credits for shaping him into the person and mixed animal practitioner he is today. “I am very thankful I grew up in a Catholic household where I learned the importance of working hard, honesty, faith, and perseverance,” he says. “I was the second to the youngest of six siblings, and we’ve all had and continue to have an important role in the growth of our family’s operation of farm land and registered Santa Gertrudis cattle. I have a very supportive family that has helped create my basis in veterinary medicine.”

As an undergraduate, Dr. Sanchez majored in Animal Science at Texas A&M University and was accepted to Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in his junior year. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. Sanchez opened Yucca Veterinary Medical Center in October 2013.
Dr. Sanchez has a broad range of professional interests, all of which inform his work at the medical center. His areas of special focus include orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, canine/ equine lameness, therapeutic showing, lower limb surgical intervention, canine and equine reproduction, and ultrasound.

“The most satisfying part of my job is serving a rural community, and being able to bring a service to my hometown where my clients can have access to the latest technology so they don’t have to be referred as often to a specialty clinic,” he says. “I also enjoy building relationships with my clients and patients, and I’m excited to encourage youth and support local youth organizations.”

When Dr. Sanchez is not practicing medicine at Yucca Veterinary Medical Center, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and their 3 kids on their farm and ranch operation.

Dr. Brandon Jones
Brandon Jones, DVM

Dr. Brandon Jones was born and raised just south of Belen in Veguita, New Mexico, on his family’s dairy farm. Hard work and a respect for animals were instilled in Brandon from an early age due to this upbringing. He pursued a degree in Animal Science at Texas Tech University in Lubbock and then received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in Pullman. Upon his return to his home state, he began working at Yucca Veterinary Medical Center. He has developed a passion for oncology, reproduction, and surgery. In his free time, he provides veterinary services for his family’s dairy. Dr. Jones’s passion for his community and patients has helped him blend seamlessly into our clinic’s culture.

Dr. Chloe Reiter
Chloe Reiter, DVM

Originally from Post, Texas, I’ve always had a deep-rooted passion for animals and rural veterinary medicine. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from West Texas A&M University. Following that, I had the honor of being part of the inaugural 2025 class at the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine.

What drew me to Yucca Veterinary Clinic was the unmatched mentorship and the warm, supportive community of Belen. From day one, it felt like home.
My professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, oncology, theriogenology (reproduction), and equine medicine.
