About Yucca Veterinary Medical Center
At Yucca Veterinary Medical Center in Belen, NM, compassionate care meets veterinary expertise. Our team has been helping pets and livestock thrive for many years.
Our Story
Yucca Veterinary Medical Center was founded in 2013 by Dr. Florian Sanchez to provide compassionate, advanced veterinary medicine for dogs, cats, horses, and cattle throughout Valencia County. Every day, our mission is to keep our patients healthy and our clients happy by delivering high-quality, affordable care.
Why Preventive Care for Your Pet Is So Important
One of the most important steps you can take to protect your pet’s health is scheduling regular preventive care. Our comprehensive pet wellness programs include:
- Routine physical examinations
- Dental care
- Customized vaccinations
- Parasite prevention
Just like with human health care, identifying issues before they become serious is the key to maintaining long-term wellness and keeping the lifetime cost of care as low as possible.
When Illness or Injury Happens
Even with the best preventive care, illness and injury can occur. When your pet needs treatment, you can rest assured our medical team has the skills and resources to help them feel better quickly. We offer a wide range of diagnostic and surgical capabilities, supported by advanced veterinary technology, to ensure every patient receives exceptional care delivered with compassion and sensitivity.
Large Animal Medicine
In addition to our full range of companion animal services, we provide veterinary care for cattle, goats, pigs, lambs, and a variety of equines—including racetrack horses, breeding stock, event horses, backyard companions, ranch horses, and working horses.
Community Involvement
We believe in giving back to the community we serve. Yucca Veterinary Medical Center provides free adoption examinations for all pets adopted from the Valencia County Animal Shelter to help them find loving forever homes.
We are also proud sponsors of the local Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H chapters, encouraging youth development through growing and raising livestock.
